Privacy policy
What personal data we collect, why, and your rights.
Data controller: add the legal name and postal address of the person or company responsible for this site, then have this policy reviewed for the jurisdictions you operate in (for example UK GDPR or EU GDPR) before launch.
Who we are
This policy covers portalfootball.com. For any question or request about your personal data, email [email protected].
Data we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, chosen topic and message, which we use to read and answer your message. They are stored in our site's database.
- Email: if you write to [email protected], your address and message are delivered to our inbox through Cloudflare Email Routing.
- Administration accounts: the name, email address and a salted password hash of the people who manage the site, and a session record while they are signed in.
- Technical data: when you visit, your IP address and request details (such as the page requested and your browser type) pass through Cloudflare, which provides our network and security services, and may be recorded in our server logs to keep the site secure and working.
- Audience measurement: we use our own privacy-conscious, first-party analytics to count page views and visits. When a page loads, your browser sends a small request to this site, not to any third party, with the page address and title, the site that referred you, any campaign tags in the link, and a general device and browser type. To tell visits apart, your browser keeps a random identifier, created by this site, in its local storage for this site. It is not a cookie, is not shared with other sites and is not derived from your device. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, the identifier is kept only until you close the tab. Our analytics does not store your IP address; we record only the country a visit came from.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, our analytics sets no cookies, and we do not sell personal data. See our cookie policy.
Why we use it
- To read and respond to messages and correction requests you send us.
- To keep the site secure, available and working properly.
- To let authorised staff sign in and manage the site.
We rely on our legitimate interests in running the site and answering the people who contact us.
Who receives it
- Cloudflare, which provides our network, security and email routing services and may process data outside your country under its data processing terms.
- Our email provider, which hosts the inbox that receives messages sent to [email protected].
We do not share personal data with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Backups of the site database, which include contact-form messages and account records, are kept for 14 days.
- Administration sign-in sessions expire after 14 days.
Retention: decide how long contact-form messages, emails and server logs are kept, and state it here.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the way we handle personal data changes. The date below shows when it last changed.
